I tend to go with a "middle ground theory" in that Zimmerman spotted Martin at the "T". They both approached each other to confront. They both began a pushing and shoving match that ended up where tha actual fight began and the shooting occurred.
In this particular scenario, Zimmerman is more complicit in the escalation of the fight. I cannot understand why the prosecution didn't try to present this as a way to cast doubt on Zimmerman's version of events.
