Fair question? That is silly. The guy has a Ph.D and a noted scholar. What does religion have to do with his work? And furthermore, it's one thing to ask him that sort of question to begin an interview, but to continue that theme throughout the interview despite his responses was ridiculous.

See, this is the problem right here. Pure ignorance.

No, the problem is this man wants to write a book bashing Jesus and Christianity, yet look at his own religion. Founded by a pedophile. Passages that encourage and call for other to kill in the name of Allah. While the media touted this guy on his book tour, few if any others made key mention of his own religion.

I repeat, ignorance. You haven't read the book, nor does it seem like you paid attention to what he said during the interview. So, in similar fashion to the fox interviewer, you're jumping to conclusions based solely on his beliefs.

And like he mentioned, as a scholar, he's done more than just study Christianity. He has a Ph.D in religious studies which entails being well versed in several religions, which includes Christianity.

***sifting through news reports***

why, why aren't there any confirmation to the ******* claims that there are as much fanatical Christians as there are Muslims?

anybody can help me find any threats from fundamental Christians on the well-being of this distinguished author of a scientific book with a very respectful and considering title?

There aren't any?

How disappointing.

Imagine somebody writing a book with a title “Zealot: The Life and Times of Mohammed"?

Most people who claim the Bible as a guide have read little to nothing of it. Almost without exception, the people the most well-versed in it are non-believers.

Exactly. A man who would write a book like that, would not get any air time, wouldnt get talked about by all sort of big name media outlets. Hell, this negative book on Jesus is getting play everywhere. Ive seen it on sites that focus mostly on tech. Because it is a negative take on Jesus and Christianity to a degree, liberals and atheists everywhere fall over themselves promoting it.

It is Islam that has people killing the innocent by the millions today. In nearly every conflict right now in our world, its no coincidence that Islam and Muslims play a key part in each one.

And I dont care what this guy has a degree in. His sole purpose for writing this is to bash the religion that is the complete opposite of his own. He might better spend his time writing a book on his own prophet, his own religion of death. His opinions and bs views of Jesus mean nothing to me.

Hilarious. I hear Fox News is hiring more news anchors.

I'm going to go write a book about salamanders. Fox News will probably have problems with it since it is coming from a primate. Who'd read a book about salamanders when it obviously will have a PRO-MAMMAL agenda.
