Soledad O'Brien Becomes Al Jazeera America Correspondent

Soledad O'Brien Becomes Al Jazeera America Correspondent

What is wrong with the left???? Al Gore?? And now Soladad???

Quote:

Soledad O'Brien has landed at Al Jazeera America, the broadcaster confirmed
Monday morning.

O'Brien, who was formerly an anchor at CNN, will become a special
correspondent for the new network's flagship primetime show, "America Tonight,"
and will also produce documentary specials. She is perhaps the highest-profile
name to join AJA, which has been on a hiring spree in preparation for its
launch in the late summer or early fall.
Useful idiots for Islamic terrorists

Even some righties on this board will tell you that Al Jazeera is one of the rare bastions of actual journalism remaining.

Thread fail.

Obviously it's selling out America to not hate people for their faith, and work with people of many faiths.

Obviously violations of the first amendment are totally American.

When we're in France, that's pretty much what we watch. They broadcast in English, and it's actual reporting.

From Wikipedia:
"In the 2000s, the network was praised by the Index on Censorship for circumventing censorship and contributing to the free exchange of information in the Arab world, and by the Webby Awards, who nominated it as one of the five best news web sites, along with BBC News, National Geographic and The Smoking Gun. It was also voted by Brandchannel readers as the fifth most influential global brand behind Apple, Google, Ikea and Starbucks. In 2011, Salon.com said Al Jazeera's coverage of the 2011 Egyptian protests was superior to that of the American news media, while U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton also opined that the network's news coverage was more informative, and less opinion-driven than American journalism.[5]"

Just because it has an Arabic-sounding name doesn't mean it's a terrorist organization.

Al Jazeera is a great news network and only an idiot would claim it's unAmerican to work for them. Usually the idiots making those sorts of claims haven't ever watched it and instead just hate it because it's based in a Muslim country.

That's probably true. I've never heard/watched Al J, but have heard good things about it.

As for Soledad, never could stand her. Can't say why. Just couldn't watch her.

I tend to agree with the more left leaning posters, AJ is actually a pretty good new resource, I watch it quite a bit.... Just has a ominious sounding name. Way better than RT!!!
