That's the way I understood it. It's unfortunate that so many are still dying in car accidents.

You can take it either way, and whichever turns out to be right, he'll take credit for it.

It's called "double-speak, Obama style".

Imagine how much lower the odds would be if we stopped trying to win the hearts and minds of people by supplying weapons to one side or the other.

Precisely. Of all the things to blow so much money on, **** so many people off a about and even send people to their deaths fighting, why terrorism? It's such a miniscule threat.

Plus the 'war on terror' will never end. Never. Impossible. The govt needs to keep it alive anyway. It's an industry. Billions are passed from wallet to wallet to fight it, to surveille it, and yes, to prop it up. They have to keep it alive. The govt needs them, and really don't want to win the war, they just need enough scary bogeymen out there to sustain this never ending circle-jerk. The 'war on terror' is a cow that they will milk indefinitely. She just keeps on giving.

The FEAR has to be greater than the OUTRAGE over what the USG is doing to us.
Hmmmmm....
Interesting business decisions being made.

Among those who have been asked to stop using the UK's biggest bank are the Vatican, Papua New Guinea and the west African nation of Benin.
More than 40 embassies, consulates and high commissions are said to be affected, with their position made worse by other banks' refusal to take their custom.

This is the problem. People walk away scratching their head trying to figure out what he was saying or what he meant. This is indicative of what a poor communicator he is. How many times did he have to clarify something that he said because it wasn't clear and was left open for interpretation. Or when he has made excuses for what he said - it's always the people who heard what he said that got it wrong.

This is from march of last year.............

Drug enforcement chiefs have for the first time identified the Vatican as a possible centre for money laundering from criminal activity.
The report by the American State Department's International Narcotics Control Strategy lists the Holy See as one of 68 countries including Yemen, Algeria and North Korea, describing it as a 'country of concern' for money laundering or other financial crimes.

Exactly! It has created new bureaucracies and new industries geared to militarize and turn the US into a police state where the citizens are the enemy and need to be spied on and constantly suspected.
The industries then bribe the politicians though lobbying and campaign contributions to spend more and more tax money on their products and services.
It is a vicious cycle which will continue until we repeal the Patriot Act, and stand together to force government to respect our rights and our privacy.

And Obama is doing all he can with his foreign policy to get those odds down to zero chance of staying safe from terrorists.
