Why do you think crippling the NSA is a good thing? That seems to suggest the potential for a lot of loss of life. Danger isn't something that The Government made up to control you, despite what many young people like to believe. For one tiny example, Germany has recently stepped up security in response to the NSA's information regarding Al Quaed'as specific targeting of high-speed rail systems in Europe: Al Qaeda planning attacks on high-speed trains in Europe: newspaper | Reuters
No doubt that there are tough questions when it comes to the compromise between privacy and security, but are we sure that a handful of 20-somethings should be the one's choosing these answers for the rest of us?

If the NSA has nothing to hide, then they shouldn't worry.
If the NSA doesn't like people like Greenwald, they don't have to fly and instead they can take the bus or drive.
