ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: After a doctor's visit this morning to check up on a lingering cough from a cold, Vice President Dick Cheney was found to have an irregular heartbeat.

"During examination he was incidentally found to have an irregular heartbeat, which on further testing was determined to be atrial fibrillation, an abnormal rhythm involving the upper chambers of the heart," said Cheney spokesperson Megan Mitchell in a statement released this afternoon.

Well I don't exactly care for the man but I hope he gets it taken care of. With all the problems he has had with his heart shouldnt the doctors have noticed that by now?

I didn't even know Cheney had a heart...

All kidding aside, Atrial Fibrillation, or A-Fib, is fairly common and is ususally well tolerated and ususally non-life threatening; at least not in an immediate sense.

He got it when he starred as the Lion in the "Wizard of Oz". Yes, he is that old.
A remarkable acting career spanning many years - all the way up to his memorable role as "Dr. Evil" in the Austen Powers trilogy.

And many people forget his most famous acting gig: That of a politician portrayed as an American. I never found this role very believable, though.
