There is no scientific evidence for the existence of any intelligent agent which created the universe, the earth, life or humans.

Therefore, it would be inappropriate to teach intelligent design in a science class.

There are currently @ 21 major religions with 4,200 divisions, each with its own variation on a theme.
How long will it take to cover them and make certain no one is left out?

We should also teach that storks bring babies as an alternative theory to procreation through sexual means. It could happen one day.

The stork story is told to children to maintain their innocents about sex and babies.
It was well known for many centuries what happens after sex.

no because people are supposed to individually discover the essence of why it is that evolution can be, and was discovered. Science does not have any claim on evolution, it only discovered evolution , thats all.

Theology means "study of god"

so regardless of if you think it is science or not, it is still theology.

No. While many us may believe there was ahigher Being that played a hand, pulic schools are for teaching verifiable science, not beliefs.

Its a bad idea outside of strict philosophy and then that would be a whole new question.

you people are so afraid that children may mention a higher power that you would rather stunt intellectual debate than have an open discussion.
Having a God doesn't solve that problem.

Intelligent design adds nothing of value. It's proponents just wait for scientists to do the research and produce theories, and then they just add "..and therefore God". Intelligent designers' only argument boils down to "Coincidence? I think not. Therefore God."

Is the golden mean a myth? If so how?

By dismissing all of what one cannot rationalize..you are engaging in egoism. And that is every bit as ignorant and deleterious as religion.

Don't let your personal convictions and the agenda rooted in them get in the way of promoting a marketplace of ideas. The irony here is you rail against institutions that do EXACTLY that.
