I was watching Geraldo lastnight and they had a segment where they asked is there hard evidence that Assad was the one who ordered the chemical attack? Could it had been one of his rouge army officers that did it? They also mentioned the possibility that it could have been ordered by someone on the opposition to bring the U.S into the conflict.
Useing the same logic that the cons use to blame everything on Obama, whether he was directly responsible or not: it happened on Assad's watch, so he is responsible.

Only if it was 1 of Assad's units. If it was the rebels then all bets are off. It could have been chemical weapons from Libya. In which case we own a measure of the blame.
I'm sure there is some evidence of Assad's forces ordering the attack. However, it seems that information source is classified and they are making those in congress come in for a classified briefing in order to get the information. It would be counter productive to go public on how they got the information, especially if that line of information is still open and being used. Only time will tell.

I couldn't tell you that they did or didn't. It was interesting watching statements before and after the briefing that members of congress took part in. Whatever it is sure changed some of those people's opinions, so I can only guess it was pretty strong evidence.
It is irrelevant whether Assad ordered the attacks or not. What US National Security interest does this involve? If we attack and chemical weapons are opened ... who cleans up the mess? Who is responsible for any of the deaths that these opened weapons cause? Why are we (actually Odumbo) trying to get involved in a civil war? As far as the dummy loosing respect ... o well ... one must assume he has/had it to begin with. The stature of the US in the eyes of the world ... the dummy gave that one up long ago.
Pretty much the entire world seems to think Assad was responsible for the chemical attacks
You don't start a military engagement on what you think... You start it on what you KNOW.
