it all boils down to race. if ferrell was white, he would be alive, and that homeowner probably would've helped him, although i don't think she did anything wrong.
If Ferrell had been white this wouldn't be in the media and the cop would never have been charged because there would be no pressure from the attention. See how easy idiotic speculation can be?
I live in Charlotte. It's big news here. These cops would rather shoot somebody than get their hands dirty. Nowhere has it been said that he tried to take one of their guns! The guy had been in a bad accident. He wasn't armed. He wasn't intoxicated. He was innocent. There were 3 cops!!! There was no reason to take him into custody, unless being in an accident and needing help is illegal.

Because it happens all the time. CNN reporting that a cop shot an unarmed civilian is like reporting that water is wet. Local news channels do report shootings though.
No doubt this tragic situation will be analyzed by professionals, and used for training purposes for other officers and those in POST training. It is unfortunate that a situation like this occurs, but will hopefully be used for training and education to prevent another tragedy like this occurring.
The fact that race was highlighted, is really bigoted. These situations occur all the time, with officers of all races, and people from many races. I remember one shooting, a very large man was "breaking" into a home. The police told him to stop, he was drunk, and did not hear them, they say he came at them....not sure how he could with .30 alcohol level....they shot him, he was killed on his own back porch, trying to get into his own home. All people involved were white.
Race is not the issue here. Lack of training, and communication were the problems.
I read he was disoriented from the crash, if you ever been in a traumatic situation you're pretty much all over the place.was a taser/stun gun unavailable ? Irony, survive a near fatal crash only to be killed by police as you ask for help
I doubt the cops thought, " hey, there is a black kid, shoot!" we don't know the motive. but that cop only knows what his mental thoughts were. did he respond as he was trained. It was 230 in the AM. somebody comes to my door, I might blow them away. don't care if it is a black kids, or Japanese. don't knock on my door at 230 am.

That's illegal in just about every state though, even Florida.
It would be every other race in this country vs whites.
