He would have had a much better chance at winning.

Not really, people were swooning over Obama, especially the media and still are. We have no free press left in our country except for FOX, about the only media to criticise him. That's why Obama can't stand them.

Default I don't think so

The country was reeling from the stench that Bush represented, and the best that McCain could do under any circumstance was be a McBush. Youbetcha dingbat Palin from Podunk only INTENSIFIED the absurdity of having yet another Republican at the helm to give us more Bush.

It's been downhill for the GOP ever since and the party has severely REGRESSED.

The thing about the Bush presidency was that it heavily involved Cheney. At the very least he'd be slightly better than Bush, and without the Cheney influence, (if he picked someone better than Palin)

However, in retrospects, Obama turned out to be W. Bush 2.0 in ways much worse than W.

I think it's amazing how politicians are so different from the people you see them as before and during the campaign for Presidency.

The palin choice proved he was not his own man. John didint want Palin, his staff and money made a bad choice and he went along. John believed that palin would help him with all the demographics Republicans are still having problems with.

Lets remember Sarah Palin of 2007 was not anything like the Sarah Palin of today. People love what Sarah Palin has become.

Essentially the same was said after Carter's reign about Democrats, and look where we are now. The pendulum always swings. I suspect it'll start swinging again towards the right after the effects of Obamacare on the pocketbook are a reality.

I would love to see age limitation or term limitation for these guys. I think its crazy to be well into your 70s and pushing 80 and keep getting send back to Washington. some people are stuck in their ways as they get older making it hard to deal with them plus early signs of dementia. I mean they are wealthy people most of them, just retire already and enjoy the rest of your life. Let new and younger people have a shot at it and maybe things wont be so bad in Washington. I have nothing against people of that age nothing I just think nobody should hold any post their entire career or until they die or get sick and have no choice.

Yeah, except for that little thing with the Dems losing control of the House in 2010.
