Milking time at work?

Section 4207 of the PPACA, now codified as 29 U.S.C. § 207(r)(1)-(4), is the new federal mandate, requiring that employers provide reasonable break time for nursing mothers to express breast milk. The full text of the FLSA amendment is as follows:
SEC. 4207. REASONABLE BREAK TIME FOR NURSING MOTHERS.
Section 7 of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (29 U.S.C. 207) is amended by adding at the end the following:
‘‘(r)(1) An employer shall provide—
‘‘(A) a reasonable break time for an employee to express breast milk for her nursing child for 1 year after the child’s birth each time such employee has need to express the milk; and
‘‘(B) a place, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public, which may be used by an employee to express breast milk.

But but but we've been told all along that businesses with fewer than 50 employees were unaffected by O'care!

More lies.

Pretty much every talking point used to sell this atrocity is turning out to be a lie.

But big government knows best, so we're supposed to just shut up and take it. It's for our own good.

These are "spoils", meaning things to milk for money for the industry.

hmmm.... this is OUTRAGEOUS

So lets take a typical factory job or call center...


Lets say the place has 400 employees, most of them full time..

Lets say 200 are women.

The building is mainly ONE HUGE room. With just 10 small offices being used by managers and HR.

Where is the mother going to breast feed? Businesses are now required to section off a whole office for this? Or put up 4 walls with a door , so the mother's in a real life cube while breastfeeding?

This is insanity, really it is.

I'm sure most businesses like that will end up just letting them go home each time. But how often does a baby need to be breast fed? Would it just be once a day, twice?

And the wording of this means, that new mothers are going to get longer breaks/lunch than everyone else, or get extra breaks.

What if the new mom works at a mcdonalds? Where the heck is she going to breast feed in the restaurant?

What if the new mom works outside doing landscaping?

To be fair,if you read the link, you'd see it is for over 50 employees.

What ? Women just can't go into the ladies room and pump ? Go into a stall if you want privacy.
Companies need special milking rooms now with individual accomodations ?

And you people wonder why companies are either offshoring or bringing in immigrants on visas.

This mandated move to Utopia will be the death of America.

What ? How many women bring their newborn babies to work in a call center to breastfeed ?

This is about them pumping milk for feeding later.
These places do have bathrooms which have worked quite well until HHS decided otherwise.

ACA EXPERTS ~

Is there anything in there about businesses needing to provide clean restrooms with ample number of toilets/stalls/urinals based on the number of employees?

I worked in a place that seriously had only 5 toilets and 7 urinals for over 200 male employees. And they were right next to where people worked, so you could sometimes smell the **** while working..

Is there something to solve these issues? Or is it just about putting women on a golden pedestal, while men have to drink from the trough?

I'm sure there's a provision where ACA pays companies to set up req'd milking-rooms - and /or pays for employee's lost time/productivity. No? Oh, I see -- ACA 'milks' companies.
