That's a good thing. It means they are being held to a similar standard, and just like male recruits wash out, more women will due to size and physicality.

if the women or the gays can handle combat, i dont see an issue. the marines set the standard for everyone, they decided not to lower the bar, cant make the cut, you dont belong period. go back to your desk and shuffle paperwork, or run the comm center, or what ever other job you were doing in the marines, but you dont belong in the infantry.

northnut likely didnt serve and thus doesnt realize that just because you
teach someone to shoot a gun, doesnt meant that when the time comes and they are
staring down the enemy that theya re going to pull the trigger and actually kill
another person.
One of my best friends is a highly decorated Israeli sniper and sharpshooter. Israeli female snipers kick a$$.

Women could be just as valuable on the battlefield. Read up on women fighting for the USSR. My great-grammy got shot, and continued to fight. Survived to have a great family of 7 and a successful farm.

Because they have shown to be decent snipers, that means females make great infantry soldiers overall? Gimme a break.

Exactly. If females ever get to the front line, I don't want to hear any complaining from my "progressive" friends about double standards or misogyny. Look at female police officers. They can barely do their job without the help of a male partner.

I for one welcome female Americans into the warrior ranks. They should have the same opportunity to prove their worth as men. Let's face facts anyone who was in battle had less respect for those who weren't even close enough to hear a 2000 pound bomb explode. The Marines did the right thing. They refused to lower the bar for females. That means those who made through are fit for duty. They earned it.
