Sorry--this is a country governed by the rule of law and not the Bible, which brings us back to morals. The Bible does not govern morality for everyone--only Christians who believe it is a book of literal truth. Muslims believe that comes from the Koran, Jews from the Torah, Hindus and Buddhists believe otherwise.

Nobody is saying rich people have no morals. But, wealthy people who claim they are Christians, yet are greedy and avaricious and could care less about the poor and needy, certainly are not obtaining their moral values from their religious beliefs.
What does the Bible have to do with the discussion of whether gay marriage is a civil right?

Viewed from a secular perspective, gay marriage is of course a civil right.

Viewed from a religious perspective, it's not.

However, as modern societies, we have long ago cast our lot with secularism as the best way to have a functioning society that respects its individual constituents. So therefore, from the perspective adopted broadly by modern societies, it is a civil right. Sorry that you don't like it, but that's what it is.

In fact, legions of American right-wingers who are religious are highly amoral, as evidenced by their bigoted view points on minorities, their worship of guns and violence, and their support of a sharp-elbowed "dog eat dog" world view. They enjoy using their religious convictions as a cudgel with which to beat others different than themselves (gays being the most popular today) and just generally tend to act nothing like anything Jesus ever stood for.

One need merely look at the history of the world to realize that an immense number of disgusting and barbaric acts have been done by religious people in the name of their God, whether Christian, Muslim, or other.
We dont worship guns and violence we reliaze the world never has and will will be safe and peacful.

Chirst himself said life is not just or fair.

really? right wingers are racist?

You also left these gems.

Democrats forced segregation.

Democrats filibustered the civil rights legislation.

Progressive planned parenthood founder and leftie hero margaret sanger pushed for abortion in order to get rid of the black population in America.

"Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are we being targeted? Isn't that genocide? We are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population. If the current trend continues, by 2038 the black vote will be insignificant. Did you know that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a devout racist who created the Negro Project designed to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as undesirables of society? The founder of Planned Parenthood said, "Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated." Is her vision being fulfilled today?"

woodrow wilson was an avowed racist, KKK supporter, yet is praised by the left for his progressive policies.

fdr was a liberal democrat who placed tens of thousands of American citizens into internment camps, but is beloved by lefties.

lbj was a noted racist who saw blacks as inferior, but also saw the political value in offering them assistance through the "great society".

But there ok because they were democrats, right?

Funny were the following people not atheist/leftist

Joseph Stalin

Mao Zedong

Adolf hitler

Fidel Castro

Kim Il-sung

Idi Amin

Moammar Gadhafi

Saddam Hussein

Hugo Chavez

Who many million did they butcher?

Oh please, to the left everything is a right, expect gun ownership, due process, and keep the fruits of your labor.

They don't want to be left alone. They want to go to Dodgers games, and birthday parties, and Target, and school. They want to buy a car and visit Grandma and walk the dog.

Where the heck did you get the idea they want to be left alone? They're gay, not Garbo.

You're comparing apples to hedgehogs. These people didn't slaughter in the name of their religion, like the Crusades or the Spanish Inquisition.
In any case, Hitler was a Catholic.

Aethists and Pagans have been some of the most 'Christian like' people I've ever known.

I can go out in public and say God, and guess what...nothing happens.

I can go into the church of my choice and worship as I please, and guess what...nothing happens.

The problem is when a government entity endorses a particular religion, then there's a problem. Constitution 101.

But don't let me stop the rampant paranoia.

The issue is that there are a lot of people on the right who want a state religion. As such they tend to say that anyone who does not want a state religion is against them having the right to say God in public. No one is knocking down tent revivals or arresting Mormon missionaries at the bus stop, but a lot of folks are not comfortable with undermining the Constitutional principle that suggests government should be neutral in matters of religion.
