Wrong. Capitalism does NOT in any way involve laws that provide protection from competition.

Finally, what in the world does any of this have to do with National Socialism? What a dumb comment.
Because the "using your power and influence to pass laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations that benefit YOU, not your competitor" thing is how socialist governments work, to protect the politically favored.

Oh, yes it does.

It's the same twisted leftist garbage that's killing us.

In fact, there's an "unofficial" market just down the road for that sort of thing.

Some Farmer's Markets have a children's vendor area. That's something for the Sat. Market to consider.

But um, sure, I suppose you're free to make this story political and then proceed to rant about your belief system.
Exactly.

[what a laughable 'story']

Exactly. The only thing this thread was missing was a "Thanks, Obama!" tag line.

What's laughable, is requiring a license to sell mistletoe. But you never gave that a second thought.

You accept the idea that everything but breathing requires permission from your government, and that you want taxed.

Why should she be exempted? I don't care if she is or is not taxed. She should get the permit to operate like everyone else. What puts her above the other vendors at the event - because she's a girl selling mistletoe?

[laughter]

I bet every single lefty on this thread would be OUTRAGED if OWS people weren't allowed to sell grilled cheese sandwiches or their multi-colored bracelets though. Hell, they were outraged that the sunset laws at the park were being enforced.

The OWS people were accomplishing nothing and were pathetic.

[selling grilled cheese sandwiches would have been an improvement]
