Idiots abound in politics. This idiot just wants to tell others how to live their lives.

----------

At last, a public official publicly admits what we all know to be true about occupational licensing: Its goal is to make it harder for people to do their jobs.

Texas State Rep. Bill Zedler, R-Arlington, makes no bones about it. He has introduced legislation to require employees at any sexually oriented business to get licensed and display them while working – or “performing” as the case may be.

Ridiculous abuse of government power. I don't like social conservative neocons any more than liberals do.

Hmmm….
Where are they going to display their license? I, for one, will never flout the law. I wan't to see that official license.

I can't help but wonder how long it will be before mounted police have to display their horse's license.

Hmmmm....... I would guess that there would be a lot of applicants for the job of Inspector of Strippers, especially a lot of ex politicians. Hey, if you are going to issue a license, you need to do inspections.

Idiots abound in government. They all want to control our lives. It's not just conservatives. Liberals also want to tell us what we can eat, drink and smoke.

Surprised a self-identified conservative doesn't understand that a reduction in the number of strippers means the ones working will face less competition for jobs and earn more money when they work.

This will simply encourage more individuals to become strippers.

It will never pass in Texas. Texas has always been at or near the top in strip clubs per capita. It would probably pass here in liberal latte-land (Seattle) however. We get one crackdown after another on strip clubs, escorts, etc.

There are very very few professions where government needs to control with a license. Generally, licensing doesn't help consumers at all. It just protects the status quo and big established businesses.

Another article from January 2013, is this the year in review of old articles? Good to see you are equally going after Democrats and Republicans with very old articles.
