DUBLIN, IRELAND – A teenage girl died on the street after a pharmacy refused to hand over a life-saving adrenaline injection to the girl's mother because she didn't have a prescription.
Emma Sloan, 14, suffered an allergic reaction to peanuts after mistaking satay sauce for curry sauce at a Chinese restaurant in Dublin. She told her mother, Caroline, she was having difficulty breathing.
If this girl had a severe peanut allergy, why didn't she or her mother have an Epipen on her?
Exactly. Also why not be more careful about what you are eating if you aren't sure? Why not ask the employees or cook what it is? Not the pharmacists fault. He did his job correctly.

It was a buffet - and the dish was clearly marked "Contains Nuts."
All that aside, it's not the pharmacist's fault, but he certainly didn't act correctly. He should have given them an EpiPen.

Until it is your child or family member who is affected then I bet that Pharmacist will be the first name on the lawsuit for being negligent instead of doing his job.

They have no case if they try to sue the pharmacist. He has no duty to act.

Ah. Well then he could have opened himself to a law suit.

I doubt that. I know my kids allergies and we make sure we are ready if anything happens and certainly don't eat anything that says it contains something they can't have.I am sorry the girl died but its not the pharmacists fault. Why not run to the ER? Why go to the Pharmacy?
The pharmacist was a damn idiot. There are times to say legality be damned and do the right thing.
