Why would natural selection then turn us into
one of the wimpiest species?
I'm not following. Wimpiest in what way? Every species has it's own strengths and weaknesses. We may not have a hard outer shell to live in, we don't have sharp claws and teeth, we don't run very fast and we can't survive under water.
What we DO have is a big brain. Big enough to invent gods and souls.
There is no difference between macro and micro except the scale involved. Same mechanisms
I suppose people who believe in the religious fiction of a Young Earth (instead of the reality of a 4 and half billion year old earth) might need to shut their mind to the overwhelming evidence to try to maintain their religious beliefs.
Sorry. but while microevolution has been observed(simple adaptation), macroevolution by definition can never be observed.
So stop talking nonsense.
A Young Earth is 'nonsense'. If a person starts with a nonsense premise like that, it's not surprising that they just dismiss the overwhelming evidence for evolution without even looking at it. It's too threatening to their religious beliefs.
