It isn't anything new or shocking,Muslim nations do this, have done this and will if possible do it here.

It is part of the 'culture' of some Muslims.

Sharia law is welcomed by quite a few Muslims for whatever reason.

How is Saudi culture different from Iranian?
Or honor killings which are quite prevalent even among westernised Muslims?

Maybe an example needs to be made out of Saudi that such behavior is not acceptable to be a part of the civilized world.

As for the so-called 'Westernized' Muslims committing such crimes-------they need to be punished------severely.

I don't understand your premise of "immoral" to the comments. Nor do I understand a "slap in the face to the Koran."

None of the comments appear to be immoral. They are the viewpoint of another perosn, that is all.

The Koran was never mentioned. However, if the Koran agrees with or dictates to the torture of a rape victim, then perhaps, it should be slapped in the face. For some reason, I see no peace being perpetrated in such a judgement, by a religiously grounded book.

It may have punishment for a woman not being permitted to be alone with a man to whom she is not married, but that is a cultural thing. To take a punishment for such a "crime" as far as they are doing does not seem, to me, to be a just and religious ordeal.
