Keep in mind that Planned Parenthood does not perform any abortions in La., not that closing these clinics makes sense in any state. Where do these people go for cancer screenings and other health care, gross over reaction and just plain nonsensical.

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast Inc. Tuesday asked a federal court to block
Louisiana from cutting off Medicaid funding to the organization following the
release of videos on fetal tissue research.

The organization and three patient co-plaintiffs filed for an injunction to
stop enforcement of an order by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal that would bar Medicaid
funds from going to Planned Parenthood facilities in the state beginning Sept 2.

Along with Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, New Hampshire, and Utah have all moved to restrict or cut off funding for Planned Parenthood after an antiabortion group, the Center for Medical Progress, released undercover videos it said showed Planned Parenthood profited from providing fetal tissue to researchers. Planned Parenthood has denied those claims.

“We’re in court today to protect over 5,200 people’s access to cancer screenings, well-woman exams and basic health care in Louisiana,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America said in a statement. “Many of these folks would have nowhere else to turn for health care.”

Any other hospital can preform all the same functions that are lost by planned parenthood closing.

With obamacare insuraning millions of Americans, federal funding for programs like planned parenthood is no longer needed. People should be going to their primary health provider for these types of services. Remember, preventative care has no out of pocket expenses.

Pretty obvious that these low income people are covered by Medicaid and when these clinics close there is no alternative. Do you want hospitals covering these recipients rather than a low cost clinic, assuming there is a hospital anywhere near their residence.

What possible benefit does closure of these clinics accomplish.

Bonny Jindal refused Medicaid Expansion to cover 200,000 people below the federal poverty level.

Obamacare is insurance not healthcare. there is still a deductible. many doctors charge more than low cost clinics.

Medicaid covers everything covered by planned parenthood.

Multiple government programs doing the same tasks is a waste of tax dollars.

Good. PP is just a pet democrat organization, yet liberals often complain about corporate welfare. PP deserves to be shut down. Women can go get health care from their doctor, or from a hospital, or a city/community clinic. No one needs PP.

Preventative visits have no deductible.

542 million for PP vs 92 billion for corporate welfare. huge difference.
