Back in November the Dallas Star- Telegram ran a story about how four people lost their insurance and how their new rates were going through the roof or they couldnt get throught the exchange. Three of the four who were complaining about the ACA were full fledged Tea Party members. It turned out they either hadnt tried to get insurance throught the exchange or were lying about the cost. One of them, Whitney Johnson had her story picked up by Sean Hannity.
No surprise there. Lots of these stories have already been debunked. That doesn't stop the rabid right from repeating them endlessly, though. It's how the operate -- tell a lie loudly and often enough, and you can win elections.
Now awaiting the rabid right posters showing up on this thread with their own personal stories that we're supposed to believe, or links to other "news" articles that are probably also lies …
What's that made-up number they always use about how many people have lost insurance? "Millions"? LOL.
There are many here on C-D that will never flinch from their belief of these stories. They will continue to believe all and every account of the "millions" upon "millions" of people with ACA problems are all true.
No discreditied account will ever shake a true believer.
There are always winners and losers indeed some media have pounced on stories of woe and have done so without verifying stories. I have lost track of the stories that did not pan out as portrayed. I am still haunted by the story of a 58 year old woman in Florida who had her 15 minutes of fame whining about how much more an ACA compliant policy was going to cost her. A reporter did some simple digging and learned her then current plan did not cover a dime of hospitalization, treatment or meds. The reporter also learned she qualified for a subsidy.
This woman was likely one of millions who thought all insurance was alike and never bothered to read the limitations. What the heck was she going to do if she had been diagnosed with a Cancer or heart disease. ERs don't treat and MDs are not required to take under/uninsured patients who can't pay.
I can and do appreciate that there are losers- people who fall thru the donut hole.

Some will believe anything that appears to validate their perceptions.
While I am sure that there are stories out there based on questionable source accounts, etc. are people here honestly trying to infer that the problems with the ACA roll out, the scores of people losing policies they were promised they could keep, and large scale cost increases did not actually happen?

Ah, I see the number has gone down from "millions" to "scores."

I agree case in point the die hard Obama supporters. The tea party used some ringers for a story. I am not at all surprised after all our POTUS has done the same thing. Where is the morale outrage?
The Senate Majority Leader has used the Senate floor to lie. Where is the morale outrage?
The Tea Party has many members many of who are extremist. Shame on the Tea Party for allowing such membership. The bigger shame is when elected Reps and the POTUS resort to the same tactics.
So, because 4 stories in one area weren't validated Obamacare is a great program which doesn't cause any problems for anyone? By that logic, showing 4 cases of welfare fraud should convince you that the entire welfare system is corrupt and needs to be done away with.
