You can have whatever opinion you want. Except when you're the face of something, what you publicly do impacts whether you continue being the face of that.
Would the OP have been so worked up in the 1950s, when actors and actresses were blacklisted for being accused of being Communist sympathizers?
Would you? After all, asking leading questions, like "when did you stop beating your children" is meant to harm by implication. And, you want the implication, but you're unwilling to be honest.
Wether you like or dislike the Tea Party, it doesn't matter. No one shouldlose ytheir job and be barred from working in an industry they love just because they have a different opinion. Anyone who still doesn't think Hollywood is liberally dominant and discriminates against conservatives needs to look no further than here. For a group who believes in being tolerantab open mminde , they seem to be the exact opposite.
You might want to Google "Hollywood Blacklist" to learn how people on the right blacklisted liberals. A lot of those liberals never worked again. Many were falsely accused of being communists. They not only lost their jobs they were blacklisted by people on the right from ever working in the industry. They had wives and kids and car payments and mortgages. Regular people with their livelihoods destroyed. By conservatives.
Fun fact: Nancy met Ronnie Reagan when he was collecting names of supposed commies. She went to him to fink on a few people she'd decided were too liberal and should be investigated.

Yes the Red Scare was wrong, but what does that have to do with things today? So because one group was discriminated against in the past it makes it okay to discriminate a different group? Some bad logic you have there.
BTW there are a few actors who are communists, or at the very least, express very well known communist ideas such as Tim Robbins. I'm not saying that they should be fired as everyone has a right to their opinion, but it's hypocritical for Hollywood to allow and probably even champion liberalextremism but run cconservatives and open Christians out of town.
There is even a group in Hollywood called The Friends of Abe, it was founded by Gary Sisnel and it's purpose is to provide support for conservatives and Christians in Hollywood who face discrimination for their beliefs. The main stream media does have a liberal bias and I often wonder that most people who are liberal are only so because they are easily influenced by what they see and hear from TV, movie , and celebrities expressing liberal views. Many who I personally know are liberal because of Jon Stewart and their Marxist professors.
Liberals are the establishment, they just don't see it.
