I am and racism is wrong no matter the color. Back in 2000 I applied to work for the Census Bureau. I had previously worked for them and along with the fact I scored a perfect score, speak Spanish (they preferred bilingual candidates)and had a college education not to mention any military background (medical discharged)I rightfully assumed I would be pushed to the front of the line. Nope, in fact the only position they offered me was as an enumerator in a ghetto area while I applied for a management position. The person who got the management position over me was a 24 year old black woman who had never held a job and was coming off welfare. I saw her scores too and they were MUCH lower than mine. I asked an upper manager why this happened only to be told they had to push minorities ahead of white applicants. At least I got called, most of the white people I know didn't. I can only assume the Census is worse now. This was just one of many, having lived in an area that was mostly African American after several years.

Ironically I used to be one of those pro affirmative action people until this happened. I know there is racism but taking it out on me, a woman, is wrong. Now when I have to list a race in a job I often list myself as either Hispanic or Native American and yes I get calls more from these jobs than when I list as white.

Anyone else in favor of endless whinning?

You know what? I'm looking for work and I can tell you for a fact that some employers discriminate against me because of my age which places me in with the over the hill gang. That's just life.

I am not whining I am stating a fact that yes white people are often discriminated just like anyone else. I do strongly oppose affirmative action as I feel the best person no matter what should be hired.

It's illegal if you want to take action.

But I'm with you: any/all discrimination I've ever faced for whatever reason I just brush off and figure out another way.

Reverse racism is everywhere in the military. As early as 1988 I recall having to pass up promoting very deserving soldiers simply because they were white. Enter Affirmative Action.
And just ask any skinny white US Army private what its like to be sent to the company supply room for a detail or a task. Unless you can play dominoes ( bones) and talk a little trash you're in for a rude awakening for disturbing their game.
Don't get me started on the Masons and their all black clubs, saw those everywhere in Korea.
Yes, I have seen reverse racism, no doubt about that lol.
Been out awhile, but I'm sure it still exists in the military.

Let's just say I was demoted from a job because of reverse discrimination and then when I started moving back up the ladder, the same person did what she could to make my life a living hell.

I know when I was in Colorado I had hard time finding a place to Live or Work because I wasn't Hispanic.

But do still communicate with a Mexican woman and her now grown Daughters there.
