A government subsidized life doesn't seem free to me. It's a life of worry anxiety wondering when big brother will cut you off.

No thanks. I hope to be somewhat self-sufficient when I retire so the government can 'supplement' my life style (if that sort of thing is still around).

Jack English who the story is about retired as a union carpenter. Pretty sure he collects SS and Medicare plus a pension. He broke his pelvis once and had to be helicoptered out. Back in December he was helicoptered out again with his son and now lives with his son.

So he collects the money he paid into the system?? What is wrong with that it's HIS money after all. For some reason folks think that money should be doled out to folks who can still work and choose not to.
