Uganda’s president has signed into law a bill that criminalizes homosexuality, despite condemnation from President Obama and other world leaders.President Yoweri Museveni enacted the legislation at his official residence Monday. While various international groups and leaders have condemned the law, it is popular in Uganda. Several of the officials in attendance clapped after it was signed, according to the Associated Press.

The new law sentences first-time offenders to 14 years in prison. Committing “aggravated homosexuality” -- defined as repeated gay sex or acts involving minors, disabled people, or someone with HIV -- carries a life sentence.

What a ridiculous law. It's a shame we don't have an effective President who could have done more to prevent this from passing. But, this is what happens when nobody respects what you have to say.

He is too busy protecting his narcissism and still trying to be well-spoken and clean.

Who cares about homosexual anything?? And why? I know your pointing out how he does this and that but hell he was for DOMA then against it before the election to get votes and nobody cared. You think anybody will care about Uganda? World is burning, the USofA is burning and the CIC plays golf. And that is a good thing to many of the swooners. I have given up and can only laugh at them anymore as the useful idiots they are.

Obama is responsible for what happens in Uganda now?

This law is especially insidious since it not only criminalizes and imposes severe sanctions on homosexuals, but it also makes it a criminal offense to fail to report a known homosexual.

Back to the real world now, instead of Bizarro World:

Uganda Gays Face New Wave of Fear Under Anti-Gay Bill - The Daily Beast

It seems that the intent of the legislation is to make (or at least pretend to make) Uganda 100% gay-free. Scary stuff. And now that conservative American Christians have successfully gotten this law implemented in one country, it's sure to spread to others.

Homosexuality is not illegal in Russia, but the penalties for homosexual acts in Uganda are as follows...First time offenders 14 years in prison and life for repeat offenders, so comparing Uganda to Russia is like comparing apples to chainsaws. Map: Countries where homosexuality is a crime

Even if the death penalty is removed from Uganda's Anti-Homosexual Bill, its passage would codify the country's extraordinary persecution of gays—and American evangelicals will bear responsibility. http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...vangelicals.ht
