One guy is producing a product that could change the world for thousands of years to come. "Producing a piece of complex art based on 50,000 volumes of research dating all the way back to 1400 BC Egyptian scrolls" that people just stupidly don't care about and don't buy.
Another guy, Justin Bieber, just sings a top 40 song and gets a year of fame and sells a gazillion records.
Under capitalism, Bieber was more successful
Under socialism we ackknowledge that the other guy created something undervalued by today's masses that could save future generations for thousands of years
And so socialism is to reconstruct the rewards of work based on "use values" and not merely short-term exchange values.
It is a flaw in capitalism that stock indexes exacerbate the affects of increases and decreases in GDP.
Capitalism creates a problem of near-sightedness. This problem is that the NOW is too valued over the future to the extent that the future can be rendered almost meaningless.
Do you honestly think that given the value of the Dow Jones is the "forever value" here on until the end of eternity" that is what determines Earnings per share and perceived price, that there would be so much hike between just January and February? An 8% hike !!!!!!!
That's fuzzy to me. That's to say capitalism is ignorant of anything that didn't happen in the last 5 minutes
Socialism means we really value people and their needs
Instead of saying all dollar bills are created equal
We finally impose all men and women created equal in their capabilities and needs
What's bad here? It's good actually
You are not treating people equal in their capabilities because you encourage individuals to not meet their expectations by meeting needs they otherwise would be able to go out and obtain..
Thats like saying we shouldnt allow everyone to have a BMW because a Volkswagon meets the capabilities and needs..

Haha, under true socialism, that guy who changes the world isnt allowed to profit and thus that product never comes to market.. There is no incentive to produce a product to begin with..
Look at Bill Gates for example, under your system, Windows would never have been created and we'd all still be programming in DOS... No thank you..
Socialism can allow profits but we need to add new formulae to make sure the longterm use is really true
It should be a formula based on questionnaires that determine how much profit you get to keep
Businesses will know how much that amount is once they start doing business so they can plan around it.
What we should do is abolish the progressive income tax system and instead impose a socialist-based criteria to determine who should pay the highest tax rates. Bieber's taxrate would be on the high end for example. The tax authorities would have to answer to if "baby" and "boyfriend" will change the world 15 years from now."
And then we should monitor the new Govt revenue and if it's too low we do across the board tax increases to all groups until the revenue is break even
This isn't socialism. This is a form of Fascism whereby an elite segment not part of the ruling economic class elite decides to murder the ruling economic class elite, then falsely pretend to be one among the masses when in fact they are just the new ruling class. This is elite who deceive the public, battling the elite who are honest to the public.
This type of structure is not socialism, it is disguised fascism under socialist pretext.
There is also something called the elite who represent the common people not with intent to deceive the masses. These are true socialist architects and they aren't murderers. These are called village artisans and their home would be Greenwich Village. Their humbled ness is clear in that they live where despite their wealth, their disposable incomes are low and they coexist with a peasantry to enhance quality of life around them.
These are the people who live in Haight Ashbury, NYC in the village, Hartford, Bridgeport , they aren't afraid to stay and make better things.
Why not it worked for the soviet union what can possibly go wrong?
