Back to the original topic, yes.

Here's why.

Fire
Police
Schools, I may not go to them but kids need to go and more after school programs to keep them doing something productive instead of gangs would be useful
Roads
Environmental protection
Product testing for safety (this obviously needs to be increased due to the fact that China lets any poison in all of our products and oh yeah now the FDA is saying dietary supplements have extra ingredients that companies aren't reporting)
Water infrastructure
Power Grid
Overbloated military
Airport security (for all the people that fear another 9/11)

It is asinine to think we should keep reducing taxes and somehow the free market will fix this. People will not pay for this unless they're super rich and its private security guards.

Private companies without government to balance the power would lead to an increasing neglect of population with the lowest incomes.

Transferring all of these things to states rights would allow any decent sized business to bully the states into giving them free perks otherwise they'll relocate. If anything, businesses such as Wal Mart and other big box stores should be taxed at a flat national rate so they are not constantly relocating to find better tax deals, thats bad for families of loyal employees. Otherwise we can just be 50 smaller nationals and just disband the federal government.

I am so glad that I am moving to an area where there will not be any taxes for schools, roads, utilities (including water and sewer), fire protection

Lucky you.

We will be responsible for our own water and sewage, would love to provide my own power too.

Funny thing around here is,once the gov. brings city water into the neighborhood,it FORCES everyone to sign up.

It is considered 'unfair' if a person doesn't pay.

We will have our own well and septic. Cell service vs normal line. Power will be mainly solar with generator backup

I hope to rig up a water catchment system to collect rainwater from the roof.

We will have a private well too and a septic tank.

I really wanted a windmill to power the well but I don't know if the wind is powerful enough....

We will have an outside wood furnace, maybe not straight away but as soon as possible.

We also are reponsible for our own road.

So everyone should spend thousands to drill wells. Everybody should get septic tanks too, and I can trust everyone to maintain those septic tanks so they won't break and pollute my well water? Where's the accountability? When there's a drought should your well take precedence over farmland?

No - everyone should not have to drill wells. However, some choose to want to do that. And, modern septic systems are far less apt to break. In my case, my home does not interact with any ag land

Do what you want....rely on a gov't system if you so choose.

Our septic system will be not that far from our well, contrary to popular thought people have pooped and peed on the ground for thousands of years...Wells are actually way too deep to be affected by such an occurrence.

My well is my well,it is on my land and the water drawn out is mine, why should someone else be more important than my own needs?

What about taking water from the Colorado river needed to grow our food in the winter down in Yuma?

Far less apt doesn't mean never will, especially if not maintained.
