FORT COLLINS, Colo. - A couple whose medical-marijuana plants were seized are threatening to sue authorities because the plants were returned dead.

The police seized 39 live marijuana plants from Jim and Lisa Masters in August 2006 and arrested them on drug charges, said their lawyer, Brian Vicente. The couple said they were using the plants for medical purposes and providing marijuana to several patients who were licensed to get it.

This is because of the continued "gray area" regarding those states that now have medical marijuana laws.
As long as the Feds refuse to recognize the STATE'S LAWS on this issue...(about 12 states have medical marijuana laws now, I believe)......and as long as there is no real regulation or clearly defined policy in place as to the growing and distribution of medical MJ......this will continue.
It's also not the first time a bunch of plants or harvested pot has been confiscated in a raid and ORDERED by a judge, to be returned to the people who it belonged to......dead plants or live ones. Although its really difficult to KEEP those plants ALIVE and HEALTHY while they are in the custody of the Sherriff's Dept. evidence room!
They would need to start their own grow room, ya know?
The beat goes on and so does Reefer Madness!
Damn Demon Weed!
No offense......but IMHO.....the govt. should focus their efforts on eradicating poison ivy.
You just know its far more harmful if smoked and causes REAL itchy health problems to all the kids and unsuspecting people who may so innocently come in contact with it!
If you want a WAR on a PLANT........poison ivy, oak and sumac get MY vote anyday!
