Because in this nation, all people are free to set their own destinies.

You are free to go commando, or to pull up your big girl panties.

Did you forget about the recession?
Did school teach you about the Great Depression and what caused it?
Did you even go to school?

Yes, both caused by government interference in the freemarket.
Micro managing the economy by Progressive policy, in the name of social engineering.

When the Hoover administration hit office the economy contracted, by the money taken from the economy.
When Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid took congress, the economy contracted, by the money they both diverted from the economy, to the government. Business doesn't like restrictions placed on them and they will put the brakes on with fear of economic collapse.

Kindergarten wrong. Government put in place regulations prohibiting a repeat of Great Depression.

Also, When in 1944 the government took $49B ($267B in 2013 money) from the tax payers and put it towards funding the GI Bill it returned $6.90 for every dollar spent.

Glass-Steagall was dropped 20 years ago.

Government change the calculations. Compare unemployment calculations from the 1930's to the way it is manipulated today, so that real number is never seen.... and cause a panic.

And that exactly why we had a repeat of Great Depression shortly after...

Anyways, don't blame Great Depression on governments regulations. It's silly.

I think the Federal Government has taken a role in our lives, that was never intended within the Constitution.

Picking the winners & losers, is in no way treating us all equal. It is an an effort to try an make us all equal. Punishing people, to reward others is not liberty. It is very oppressive.

The feel good laws that are made every year, no longer maintain our individual freedom, they are made to restrict it. Think about that.
Treat us equally how? Tax us all the same $ amount? Give us each the same dollar amount of benefits/services? Give businesses & employees equal rights? You talk a great rhetoric but if you don't know what you want from equality then you haven't thought it through.

Democrats have been consumed with equal results as opposed to equal opportunity for decades, which is impossible until they take steps to demolish the stranglehold which union have had on our public schools for decades since there are very cities among the nation's 100 largest cities with a top-notch school system.

The pursuit of equal incomes via our tax code and/or income redistribution has never worked anywhere on the planet.

Housing prices in many cities and states can be negatively impacted by various government policies such as zoning restrictions and/or slow growth/urban containment, policies which has been the case in California for decades; combining those mandates with demand in many up-and-coming places almost always makes things much worse for the middle class.

What are We The People going to do about the cause, instead of the Government directing us to fight over the symptoms, they create???????

That is the question.
