How does individual Liberty & Freedom, conflict with everyone being equal, when we all have the freedom to choose our own paths in life?

I think the Federal Government has taken a role in our lives, that was never intended within the Constitution.

Picking the winners & losers, is in no way treating us all equal. It is an an effort to try an make us all equal. Punishing people, to reward others is not liberty. It is very oppressive.

The feel good laws that are made every year, no longer maintain our individual freedom, they are made to restrict it. Think about that.

The fundamental difference between true progressives and true conservatives is their standing on the issue of equality. The true conservative believes in equal opportunities for all, while the true progressive believes in equal outcomes for all.

Notice that I'm not comparing Democrats to Republicans, because neither party actually has any sort of firm belief structure that they hold to. Both Democrats and Republicans are too busy playing the political game to bother with any such thing as beliefs, ethics, or morals.

The "land of opportunity" is turning into the "land of entitlement".

If you can't afford a middle class lifestyle then the government is right there to subsidize it for you.

That's not true at all!!!!!!!!

Conservatives do not believe in equal opportunities for all, or they would do more to uplift the poor. They don't care about anyone but themselves. Conservatives are currently resisting gay rights, threatening to cut social programs for the unemployed and low income, and have an obsession with cutting taxes on the 1%.

"It is not my responsiblity to do X"

Progressives believe in equal opportunities for all. Progressives fought for civil rights, women's rights, the five day work week, public transportation (so that those without a vehicle can contribute), and many other opportunities for the common man. Conservatives resisted at every opportunity.

Progressives do not believe in equal outcomes. Progressives believe in equal opportunity. Socialists believe in equal outcomes.

Conservatives throw around "socialist" when most of them have no idea what the hell it actually means.

Individuals lift themselves.
The fact that you want the government to "do something" shows that you truly don't understand the other side.

So, now you understand it isn't Democrat and it isn't Republican... It is the bloated overbearing government that is the problem.

What are We The People going to do about the cause, instead of the Government directing us to fight over the symptoms, they create.

CLUE: Progressive is the code word for Socialism in America.

You can't make people equal, no matter how hard you try. You can't force someone to have a positive attitude. You can't force someone to have a pleasant disposition. You can't make a person feel they are a person worthy of love. These are things usually present in a person who describes their life as successful. Most of the attributes that make a person a content, likable member of society are attitudes and beliefs cemented in a child's psyche by the time they are four. Additionally, you can not infuse intelligence or talents into people.

No. Progressives want equal outcomes, and will use the government to steal money from the doers and give to the takers if necessary. As more and more folks get on the government dole, eventually you're going to run out of the people's money to throw at all of the social programs.
