Great link,
And no America is NOT exceptional in many areas. The only reason there is this perception of exceptionalism from the neocons in middle America is because of our advanced military capabilities. Unfortunately America has abused its Military by forging an empire.
America is just a part of the first world. There is nothing exceptional about it. Not saying we are bad just not exceptional.

We may be exceptionally delusional if anything. But, this idea of exceptionalism is elitist and smacks of fascism. The wise observe those around them and uses what works (balanced with liberty) and throws out those things that don't (again, within the confines of a free society). The USA can learn a lot from other free nations and they can learn from the USA as well. Good common sense and wisdom seems to be in short supply.
