Leftists want totalitarian control of the population.

I think they should start with the 20 something Obama voters with the bracelet idea.

Damned Republicans!.. and their stupid commie FEMA camp ideas!

"On May 18, 2000, the Republican-led NJ State Senate overwhelmingly passed what was called, “The Childproof Handgun Bill.”
"The newly enacted law meant that New Jersey became the first state to enact smart gun legislation.[15] The “smart gun" legislation that would eventually require new handguns to contain a mechanism that allows only their owners to fire them."

The problem with this concept is that it just won't sell very well.
Sure, there will be some gun owners that welcome the technology but by and large most gun owners would want nothing to do with it.

So, that means the goverent would have to make it mandatory and retro fitting the millions of guns already out there would be impractical at best........much easier for the government to just outlaw and confiscate them.

Which is what this is really all about anyways.

There is no acceptable failure rate
and these devices will fail occasionally.
I can't imagine trusting such a thing, even if I
could find the damn bracelet when I needed it most.

I don't suppose those who want this mindless, gubmint control over guns have ever taken into consideration the possibility that an owner, or police officer, might find themselves in a situation where they might, for safety's sake, find themselves in an off-hand shooting situation and the gun only recognizes their dominant hand.

Of course they haven't. They haven't thought it through! Now they'll come back and say the bracelet can be programmed for more than one shooting hand and even more than one shooter but as anyone who has any inkling of technology knows, the more intricate it is, the greater the potential failure rate is.

Not something I'd want to, or would, entrust my safety or anyone else's to.
