Give me a break- those are terrible high school grades;you must be a minority.
What was your ACT and or SAT?
I can say that at our local Catholic and public high school, there are MANY 4.0 GPA students and at least one who gets a perfect ACT or SAT (that one student usually gets into an Ivy League school). Beyond that, there are MANY students with 4.0 GPAs (these are at very good high schools) who have ACTs of 33-35 and SATs 2100-2300 WHO DO NOT GAIN ADMISSIONS TO IVY LEAGUE SCHOOLS.
I know the head of Wells Fargo Mortgage division. He is a member at our Country Club. His kid had a 4.0 and an SAT of 2300; he got into Dartmouth, probably only through is father's connections. Incidentally, his father went to a "second tier" state college in our state. One of my older son's friends (who has the identical name) had a 4.0 and 34 ACTs; he got into Brown, only because he played (and does play) football.
Are you saying that the schools just don't like white people?
If many people had perfect GPAs, then ehose school obviously have ridiculously lax grading standards, and admissions people are aware of that.
Brown grass...........rocky soil..........?? How does one golf? LOL
Unfortunately, we have more golf courses than people with common sense in this state. No shortage of super green golf courses in Arizona despite the fact that we have MAJOR water issues that developers seem to get around and completely ignore.
I guess playing 18 holes is more important than having water to drink.
You must be a minority or you are simply confabulating
My youngest kid had a 3.60 GPA, 28 ACT, played varsity golf and ran track for FOUR YEARS, and did tons of community service. We felt he was VERY LUCKY to get into his state university. He did not have a snow ball's chance in hell of getting into an Ivy League School.
My oldest son had a 3.80 GPA, 28 ACT, state individual champion in golf and multiple D-1 golf scholarships. He had multiple tournament wins around the country on the junior golf tours. He applied to Notre Dame, Northwestern, Dartmouth, and Stanford (as well as four other schools). He did not get an interview to any of the above four. He played in tournaments with that Jordan Speith guy who is on the tour now.
My daughter had a 4.0 GPA, 31 ACT, four years varsity tennis, state 2nd place individually, choir, and many hours of volunteer work at the Animal Rescue League. She was accepted to Northwestern, Creighton, and George Washington, but was denied an interview at Princeton, Yale, and Dartmouth.
Bullcrap on that 3.5 GPA, unless you are a minority.
B/c the schools they went to were either crap or there was massively lax grading. Any school where a lot of people have perfect GPAs stands out as a joke.
Nah. The "liberal" authorities in our 50th state would round you up and give you a one-way plane ticket back home.
So to get this all straight if I buy a one way plane ticket to vacation in Hawaii the "liberal" authorities pay for my way back home?
