It's been five months since 270 school girls were kidnapped at gunpoint from a boarding school in northern Nigeria. An update on developments over the past five months:
Sadly, there is no one in Nigeria to search for them. The Nigerian military is completely corrupt, and many sympathize with Boko Haram. I would imagine in a military encounter they would not have the backbone or will to stand and fight anyway. Plus the jungle offers concealment from drones and other measures of finding them through the air.

Not true - Obama sent 'advisers' and 80 Troops, and Holder sent the FBI (or not). John Kerry issued a "Let me be Clear" proclamation.
Hufpo had to retract that bit about Holder after it went viral .... turns out that it was only a PR statement and not a real deal.
A bunch of countries sent in Special Op's teams, including Canada & the UK. and of course there were also those famous people #bringbackourgirls tweets.
Did anyone really care? or was it just too hard to rescue these poor girls?
I can't figure out these people.
It spreads awareness world wide and can generate activism, which no one claims will solve, or even help, the problems they refer to. But it will generate discussion, education, and awareness.

The entire world knows about these girls.
And in the end the result is the same, the girls are still missing and unlikely to be found.

I'm sure they have long been sold off as slaves or given to the soldiers. People in the US think that Slavery disappeared 150 years ago. It's alive and well. Mostly in Muslim African countries. The Islamist have been doing this for 1500 years uninterupted and it will contunue into the future.
This entire story never did seem quite right to me.
