What is it?

"Grubering is when politicians or their segregates engage in a campaign of exaggeration and outright lies in order to “sell” the public on a particular policy initiative. The justification for Grubering is that the public is too “stupid” to understand the topic and, should they be exposed to the true facts, would likely come to the “wrong” conclusion. Grubering is based on the idea that only the erudite academics can possibly know what’s best of the little people." New term: ‘Grubering’ and how it applies to Climate Alarmism | Watts Up With That?

How do you folks feel about this? Is it okay to lie to the American public to sell a program they don't want, and still don't, just because you think it's a worthy objective? Are lies and deceit acceptable tools to fool the public in order to get things done for the perceived greater good?

I am a lefty, and I like it. It will stick.

That dude should live on in infamy. What a fool. Though I suspect it will have bipartisan application.

I still like ObamaCare though. Another great republican idea...!

Excuse me. I need to go do some "Grubering" to get my kid to floss his teeth...

I think it is terrible that once again another scandal has surfaced that smears what was promised to be the most transparent administration in history. I don't think there has ever been a time in history when we could actually trust our elected but we could at least believe them. Today it all seems to be lies all the time.
There are many Americans that are plain stupid but I still believe the majority is smart and shouldn't be lied to.

Liberals are essentially totalitarian in nature and believe in the concept of "enlightened elites" ruling over the "idiotic" masses. This sentiment, of course, is contrary to the notion of individual liberty, upon which our nation was founded. Such beliefs reveal why liberals believe in a strong central government and the "rights" of the government over the individual; conservatives believe the opposite.

Gruber simply said out loud what EVERY LIBERAL strongly believes. Every liberal is a "Gruber" who simply has not been caught on camera saying what they actually believe.

I personally think the average, everyday American is intelligent on things that concern them..paying their bills, getting the kids to and from school, mowing their lawns, grocery shopping etc etc

That being said,I do not think the average American spends more than a few minutes a year researching politics or what a certain politician actually votes for that affects their lives and those people are who can fall prey to the smear campaigns and lies told by the media or politicians ads for election..we could give example after example of lies from this passed election told by politicians from both sides and a lot of those lies stuck with uninformed voters.

Just because a few of us toss this info back and forth, that doesn't mean we are anywhere near the majority. Jmho

The Grubers say.. oh what a surprise, a politician who lied. What the hell?

Yes they do lie but the media's job is to call them out on it. The politicians are on to how to get the Grubers to give them a pass. Give the Grubers a bone and their bought.

I was taught and expected to support myself and my family. I guess this is the face of CHANGE. Dependency on the rulers.
