I think the US should contract with Russia to take our most violent criminals and place them in labor camps in Siberia. They would be choirboys compared to the hardcore Russian prisoners. It would be much cheaper and we would probably never see them again. Who would object to that?
Yes, quite obviously. So maybe we should execute people who run red lights. That will really reduce the number of red light offenses.
No, it does not. Death penalty cases frequently cost millions and take ten to twenty years.
Yes because of the never ending appeals even in the open and shut cases like George Banks. I would have no issue if the death penalty was mandatory for all violent criminals where the evidence is undeniable. Like a bank robber caught in the act, the boston bomber, rapists where DNA proves beyond a doubt etc.
Prisons should teach felons, in the harshest manner possible, that there is no greater crime than aggressing upon others and willfully violating the natural rights of others. It shouldn't be a free gym/college where violence against your fellow man is your membership fee/tuition. It should be harsh, cold, dark and brutal.
With that said, only willful acts of aggression against other people should carry prison sentences. crimes against bureaucracy should be misdemeanors at worst, with only fines/property forfeiture as penalty.

Simple solution would be mandatory shock collars. If they get too close to another prisoner they get shocked. If they speak too loud they get shocked. If they use profanity they get shocked.
After 10 years of that, they would be a different person when they got out. But the liberal idiots would never allow it.

And who get's to decide which cases have "evidence that is undeniable"? You? Cops? That's why we have a jury trial to determine guilt.

Yes, they would be criminals for life, shocked and hardened.
So let em all go..........what is the point of having law then?
Punishment should fit the crime. Locking up non-violent offenders such as those popped for possession and mixing them with the dregs of society such as murderers and rapists is counter productive. So what we've done in essence is created more criminals. This person is now hardened, desperate, and will potentially become a real criminal due to the fact he can't find a job. We always preach that we are a Christian nation, yet we're not very forgiving as a society, are we? Jeez look at the mob mentality on the threads about Sterling. I think too many people in this country have become too vengeful and chomp at the bit to see another person destroyed! There is something seriously wrong with that line of thinking!
As I said, the punishment should fit the crime, and people do deserve a 2nd chance in life. I'd prefer to see it in the way that Volobjectitarian puts a few posts back.

Should equal the crime IMO. There is a thread about a guy who buried a girl alive after raping her...........well same should be done to him. Bury his arse.
I don't "forgive" folks who do crap like that. Sorry. That is up to the big guy............
