Everyone talks about Carson's lack of political/gov't experience, and I do think it's a legit point. On the other hand, we've had a string of experienced politicians as Presidents, and how has that worked out? One of the best of modern presidents was Ike, who had no prior political experience. Ronald Reagan had no political experience until running for gov at age 56. HW Bush was brimming with DC experience. Ambassador to the UN, CIA director, US House member, and VP, but he didn't know about grocery store bar code readers.

The more experience the more tendency to micro-manage. Bill Clinton said that the key to being president was putting together a good team, and letting them do their thing.

Not true. Otherwise there would have been many scholars and gov't analysts predicting it. There were very few.
Predictions of the dissolution of the Soviet Union - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The conventional wisdom was that the USSR was stable, and would endure for a long time to come:

A CIA analyst said that the presentation was fine, but there was no way the Soviet Union was going to break up in his lifetime or his children's lifetime. The analyst's name was Robert Gates [future CIA director and SecDef under both W Bush and Barack Obama]
When Reagan said 'tear down this wall, Mr. Gorbachev' the entire foreign policy establishment, and most of his FP advisors, tried to get him to drop the line from his speech.
Reagan, 25 years ago: 'Tear down this wall!'

This is nonsense basically. Black people are only going to vote for a black candidate who does a great impersonation of Santa Claus and promises to take from the rich to give to the poor, while taking from the middle class to give to the rich.

93% of black America think Obama is doing a fantastic job.

If you were to take them out of the mix, Obama's approval rating would be somewhere south of 20%.

Yeah...I pulled it out of my rear.

My polling data is my black skin. I know my people. You don't.

Carson getting 20% of the black vote is simply fantastic...it.just can't happen.

3% tops. 5% would be biblically miraculous.

That's all he can hope for.

We need more ordinary citizens in politics, not career politicians. We have more than enough of those guys. Let some fresh blood in and maybe things can get done.

Can't take us out of the mix. We're Americans.

If you'd asked me that 15 years ago, I would have said hell no. Now I'm not so sure. In these uncertain times I sometimes long for the single enemy that could be rational over the many different radicalized fanatics that seem to welcome death. The Third World would not be in the midst of a nuclear arms race if we were still in the Cold War. Not that I wish the Soviet Union would return, just reflecting.

Actually I thought it was a funny comment. Obama did lie to us multiple times, on camera, and sold a plan that would take over one-sixth of the U.S. economy based on it. If he was in the private sector, the guy would be serving time already. If he was a republican, the press and most likely the congress would be investigating him day and night for months. It's not a crazy statement at all.
