There is such a thing called FMLA for any female that suffer from extremely sever Monthly Menstrual pains. I do not believe there needs to be anything labeled Menstrual leave, thats ridiculous.
It should be unpaid time off, or used in one's alloted PTO. Anyone who's had severe cramping and endometriosis, or heavy bleeding or strong unmanageable menstrual odor is better off taking time off as it can be too hard to concentrate on the job.
BTW, I was a stripper long ago, and I took those days off, but it was definitely unpaid. It's hard to dance nude when the vagina's bleeding. This was before menstrual cups were common. Some nude strippers said they cut off their tampon strings in order to keep on working through it, but I have no idea how they removed the tampon without its string.

Agreed. The difference of course is FMLA need not be paid leave and a business is allowed to make you use your vacation time to cover it. In which case it would be paid, if paid vacation is available.
Some women have excrutiating pain during their periods and heavy bleeding. They should be able to take a day or two off work if the pain and bleeding is that bad but a whole week? Nope. LOL
Paid vacation time for a routine biological function.
