I remember when people who criticized socialized medicine would get the response:
"Well the VA is socialized medicine..."
This was said with the idea that the VA represented socialized medicine that worked. So will that still be the case now considering the recent VA scandals?
If anything, the VA debacle should serve as a warning. However, socialized medicine does work if you want to let the old white men die off, so maybe this is why there is no uproar at this point in time?
Anyway, there will come a time when medicine in this country will be rationed. Only the healthy, young and rich will be seen worthy to receive it and this cuts across both political and racial lines.
American health care is remarkably diverse. What Mr. Romney and everyone else should know is that the V.H.A. is a huge policy success story, which offers important lessons for future health reform.

Even though the VA is run from top to bottom by the federal government, and is for all intensives - single payer heath care, the liberal progressives will refuse to acknowledge its failures, and keep pursuing their single payer Utopia.
Which just shows, you are again posting opinions on topics you don't understand.
People don't become eligible for VA benefits due to aging-- so your baby boomer argument is wrong.
HMM.. Could anything else have happened since 2001 that dramatically increased the number of people eligible for VA medical benefits? I wonder.
But, please don't let being oblivious to fact stop you from posting your vitriol.

Did I say anything about "becoming eligible"? Nope. They had the benefits but didn't need them. Now that they are aging they do need them.
As I said, Obama ran on fixing the VA problem. And now... I learned about it in the news. When the left tries to excuse Obama (AGAIN) by saying there are more people to serve. Of course there are, they are aging so are you admitting Obama didn't see it coming.
You want to know more obvious facts. There are more American citizens eligible for Obamacare than there are soldiers and people already in the VA system now, and both are government ran.
The VA is a single payer system, just like Obamacare will eventually be.
The writing is on the wall, but many don't like the facts.

The VA is not single payer. It is owned and operated by the government and it's doctors are government employees. It is underfunded and understaffed nationalized healthcare. That sweet, sweet Medicare that tea partiers wanted Obama to keep the federal government out of is single payer.
He's now working on private citizens with Obamacare
