Well, the 1980s called, they want their foreign policy back. Looks like Putin had a little too much flexibility.

Quote:
"President Barack Obama called on Congress Tuesday to back a $1 billion effort to boost the U.S. military presence across Europe, as he sought to ease anxiety among NATO allies who are wary of Russia's threatening moves in Ukraine."
Obama asks for $1B to boost US military in Europe

Didn't Margaret Thatcher say that it was absurd for 300 Million Europeans to rely on defense from 200 Million Americans against Russia?

Today there are over 500 Million people living in the European Union with a $17 Trillion economy compared to 144 Million living in Russia with a $2.5 Trillion economy. The EU does not even include the UK, which has an economy equal to that of Russia. Why can't they spend their own money to defend themselves?

The European Union should start taking a bigger role in easing their own tensions against Russia the geo-political foe -- unless they want to pay us the $1 Billion for the extra protection, they should do it themselves. We waste so much money being "world police" while European countries spend their money on their own people and not their military.

Just shows you how dumb and shortsighted our political leadership is. 17 years from now when we look back we will see that we could have spent that money fixing our infrastructure. Instead we our spending our money on supposedly military threats to our national security while other nations is spending their money domestically on their infrastructure making their nations more competitive globally as our nation is heading in the other direction towards bankruptcy.

$1B?

That's chump change for the Spender-in-Chief. It won't buy many mercs for very long.

He spent $1B on the Obamacare website.

We still don't know exactly how many hundreds of billions he poured into the European banks in the last 6 years.

The European elite must be demanding some loot to go along with his little Ukraine project.

Hey Ole Yeller, fire up the printing presses. We wouldn't want the European aristocracy to develop a conscience.

Go pound sand Barack. Your presidency is over. When the GOP takes over the senate, all you will have to do is wander the White House in a dirty bathrobe and a bottle of Thunderbird until 2016.

Wait a minute. Why?
How can we forget that not too long ago, he mocked Romney for ever suggesting such a thing about Russia bring a threat?

And Benghazi is a "faux" scandal, and there's "not a smidgen of corruption" in the IRS, ether!

Let Europe defend themselves. They are back stabbers anyway.
