With an almost religious-revival call-and-response, McDaniel promised to end "crony capitalism" and derided the federal money that has flowed to this poor state and that is Cochran's chief calling card for reelection.
The incumbent's strongest reelection argument is that losing his seniority would deprive the state of its special clout in the corridors of power.
Asked whether, after all his years in Washington, he has perhaps brought too much pork home, Cochran let out a hearty one-word answer: "Nooo," and laughed. Mississippi still has many people, including the unemployed, who could benefit from the federal government's investments, he said.
"It's so hypocritical for Mississippians to not like the pork — and we need it," said Matt Alford, an alderman in Forest
In the recent Mississippi election between republicans Thad Cochran and Tea Party candidate Chris McDaniels Thad Cochran was criticized by Tea Partiers for bringing home federal dollars(pork) to Mississippi. My question is,if it was wrong for Thad Cochran to bring home federal dollars to Mississippi then where should those federal dollars go instead? Isn't Cochran doing what he's supposed to be doing, bringing home dollars that his state needs?
You have to ask? The money should go into tax cuts. Why is Joe Sixpack paying high taxes so that the money can go to corporate interests or to the DC rich? That point should be obvious.
When you look at a Tea Partier and taxes look at Medicare Parts B, C, and D. Most Tea Partiers would support expanding Medicare and cutting their co-pays. The average conservative Tea Partier thinks that spending more on Medicare would save tax payers money in the long run. More money for Medicare and get rid of Obamacare...thats a winner for most Tea Partiers.
It should not go to Mississippi. We need federal laws banning pork to any state , where over the prior 5 years, federal money received in any manner exceeded taxes paid by state residents to the federal government.

all pork items should be gotten rid of and nobody should get any. also stop sending armored personal carriers, firearms, and MRAP's to local police departments.l
People forget that the whole tea party agenda underneath the bumper sticker sloganeering, is a desire to dismantle the federal government as we know it.
If they can stop the ability of the feds from dispensing tax dollars where they feel it will do the most good, then they castrate the ability of the federal government to maintain it's relevance. One of the main purposes of government is to funnel revenue to the areas that need it. One of The main agendas of the tea party is to destroy that ability.

why not tell the truth instead of making up lies. the tea party is not trying to dismantle the federal government, they are trying to make it smaller, something that both the dems and the repubs do not want to happen.
