Anyone who remembers that time knows that Scott Ritter and UN Weaposn Inspectors told us nearly all the weans of mass destruction were gone. They could not find any. The Bush Administration accused them of being liars or incompetent. At the time, I believed them because they had no dog in this fight and the Bush Administration had ramped up its propaganda machine for war. But anyone with a half a brain knew that Bush was going to war with Iraq regardless of the existence of WMD.

To all those that saynthat democrats supported this war and by extension are responsible for it, this is the worst kind of sophistry. The Iraqi War was a war of choice. Iraq had done nothing to us and even conservative commentator Pat Buchanon actively opposed this war. This was Bush's and the right-wing's war. If Al Gore were elected president this war would never have happened and 4000 dead Americans would be home raising families today.

Really?

You can't come up with a better rebuttal than that BS?

The Tea Party wasn't around when we invaded Iraq.... so how can they be blamed for something they had nothing to do with? Tea Party means smaller government, more personal freedom, less intrusive government, less taxes, less spending.
You might be confusing them with Neocons and their Obama supporting counterparts the Neoprogs, both of whom are eager to spend more money and lives in Iraq. And Afghanistan, and Syria, and Iran. Just remember, Bush's policies and world agenda and Obama's are virtually identical. Obama isn't called Bush 44 for nothing.
So how much are you Obama supporting Neoprogs willing to spend in Iraq?

See, Obama is "bad" for "failing in Iraq" - because we should have kept dumping money into that pit. However, Obama is also "bad" for allowing the debt to go up - even though it would have gone up much further if we kept wasting money in Iraqi.

It's a wonderful, perfectly circular loop of loony "logic" that only makes sense to right wing extremists. There is no right answer to the question because every action Obama makes - even if it is EXACTLY what a Tea Party supporter would do - is "wrong" because of "liberals" and "communists."

If you want a real laugh, ask a right-wing extremist who's frothing at the mouth about Obama "failing to stop Russia" what they would have done about it. It's funny watching them claim to NOT support a war with Russia while still expecting to somehow magic up a solution that kicks Russia out of the Ukraine without using military force. The Iraqi situation is not really different.

Enjoy the loony responses you get - I predict at least 3/4's of them will be purely partisan with no factual basis or no ability to distinguish between Obama's actions and those of Bush.
Great post, but it's even worse than that because conservatives were hugely supportive of the disastrous Iraq war in the first place. conservatives were the people who were cheerleaders for the Iraqi War and they ignored and mocked all of the now 100% correct warnings about how horrible the war would be.

By the end no rank and file conservative claims to have supported the war. They are liars or delusional, and now they express outrage for a disaster they supported from the start. A war that from the beginning was predicted to be a disaster.

Rational people would be humbled to have supported and cheerleaded just a failure of a war, but conservatives just pretend they either didn't support the war or that we won and everything was great as long as we kept troops in Iraq indefinitely even though the Iraqi people no longer wanted us there.

The idea that people who claim to be Tea Party members aren't extreme right wingers who were the staunchest supporters of Bush's War on Terror is a bad joke that fools no one. It is without doubt true that Tea party members to a person supported the Iraq War.

People who are in the tea party were alive when this nation was deciding to go to War with Iraq.

Those people made choices whether to support that war and Tea party members as a group are extreme right wingers who as a group were the most supportive of the Iraq war.
