I'm enjoying the debates between the 'Soccer suck' and 'Soccer's great' crowd.

Here's what Tosh has to say....hilarious.

Entertaining video. As far as the debate everyone has their likes and dis-likes. There is nothing wrong for Soccer lovers wishing it will continue to grow, however it seems that the haters almost are praying that it dies a quick death for some reason. At least that is the perception I get from the other thread.

True. If you dont like a sport, dont watch it, but what is the point in hating ?

The difference being that teams from across the world compete in proper World Cups in not just Football (Soccer) but both Rugby Union and Rugby League as well as Cricket, and there is the 6 Nations Rugby ever year and the Heineken Cup, and in terms of Ruby League the European Super League, whilst there is a host of International Test Match Cricket and in terms of football (soccer) there is the UEFA Champions League (European Cup) and UEFA Europa League (UEFA Cup) at club level and at national levels we compete at both the World Cup and UEFA European Championship. American sports by comparison aren't played to the same level by the rest of the world.

Nothing against the sport, its the elitist fans who constantly whine "its not called soccer!!! its football!! wahh! wahh!"

"its the best sport in the world, how come its not popular in the US!?!? jeez Americans are so ignorant and close minded!"

The best thing about having a kid in Soccer, is the Mom's. Good grief, I love MILF's. Love 'em!

The term soccer originated in England as a nickname for Football. Though the term football makes more sense for soccer because it is a sport you play with your foot with a ball. American Football is a sport you play with your hands with an egg shaped ball, Handeggball didn't have the same ring as one of the most popular sports in the world.

Though I don't understand why people who don't like soccer want to see it not grow, just don't like the sport and don't pay attention to it.

Every four years, this lame argument comes up.

Americans will never gobble up soccer the way the rest of the world does. That's perfectly fine. Americans are provincial goobers...We like what we like.

We only have 1 international sport that is homegrown...basketball. Our other sports get scant attention in the rest of the world.
