Where is the estimated 940 million going to come from?
Raise the taxes on the citizens?

A slow boat to Central America is more cost effective.

Immigration hearings is not like criminal court where a public defender is provided.
And this is why NYC is doing this.

There are probably too many immigrants in the system for the pro bono lawyers to handle.

FYI..the Senate Immigration bill that passed does make a provision that the USG will provide lawyers to illegals facing deportation at no charge to them. So what NYC is now doing will become the law of the land once amnesty passes.

In the meantime, while waiting for their hearings watch how many of these "kids" get pregnant, deliver their anchor babies, and make the deportation hearing (if they ever show up) useless. What a waste of tax dollars.

I read the backlog is somewhere in the number of 350,000 give or take and can take up to 2 years before the first hearing.
I don't believe the Obama administration has any plans to add more people to shorten that wait time.

Immigration belongs to the Fed.

The Senate bill did not pass the House and there will be no amnesty.

Yes I know the Senate bill did not pass the House.
But that is currently what we have on the table.

People need to know what is in this bill because it just may be what various EO's may enact.

Actually, a military base is considered U.S. soil wherever it's located. The difference is there are no Otherwise, the sole U.S. authority is the military.
