I think this is a true humanitarian catastrophe that has had months of fermenting and Washington never prepared for nor wanted to admit was coming. There were plenty of waring signs.
With that said, some of these children have seen both parents slaughtered and have wounds inflicted on them.
This is not the same as the blind eye the administration to the illegal problem that already existed.
Just as big a deal as the beatdown our system is about to take from an overload of illegal immigrants, is the fact that government is threatening our own citizens who discuss it in the medical community.
By the way, THIS is part of what I was talking about when I worked in SA back in the '90's. We were threatened, too, if we divulged anything about the illegal alien problem.

I agree. The silencing of a US citizen should send chills through all of us.
Where is the Express News on this? How about local TV? Major networks? ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNBC? A deafening silence.
Why are our Congressmen not beating down the doors and DEMANDING answers? ----Congressmen from BOTH sides of the aisle?
We should all be asking that. I wonder if medical staff in the VA hospitals who saw the dirt going on were threatened too. Americans used to have freedom of speech. That is what made our country great.
