Seems like a 16-year-old has come up with a way to do what we have all talked about for years - get money out of politics, or at least make the flow transparent. Currently his data comes from the 2012 election cycle, but it should still be revealing. I'm downloading the app to my iphone as I type this.

Now we can see who is in the pocket of Halliburton, the Koch Brothers, Big Pharma, Big Oil, internet providers, Citizens United, WalMart, the NRA, and all of the rest of the vote-buying scumbags who are killing America. Could be interesting!

They all take money. People are going to vote for the letter after their name by and large no matter who is giving them the money.

So what is this supposed to do to change that?

Quite true.

If there's one thing that I've learned in life, it's that politicians have no conscience, therefore they cannot be shamed.

Props to the kid for trying to make a difference, though. I respect that.

Sure. Shows some initiative on his part. Hopefully it leads to something even better for him.

Interesting that the 16 year old said he created this as a bipartisan tool yet all you do is rip off the left wing talking point list of conservative big money donators and conclude by calling them scumbags.
Where is LaRaza on your list? Where is George Soros? Where are the trial lawyers? Where are the corrupt teachers and Auto unions?

You add who you wish, I'll add who I wish. At least you recognize conservative scumbags when you see them.

I also found out it won't run on a phone, but it does just fine on a desktop.

I'm impressed with this answer:

What are your political views, and how are they relevant to the tool?

I want a system that works, and so do other kids my age. I want Greenhouse to be a nonpartisan tool. What concerns me is the sheer amount of money being pumped into the system because there really is a lot. During the development of Greenhouse and looking over these numbers and seeing how much is being donated—it’s really scary.

I wonder at times how concerned kids his age -- and my kids have been his age recently -- are with what is going on in the world/US/state/local political environment. Hopefully this spurs other kids to take an active role as well.

What I would like to ask is how he believes this money will affect his vote?

Well, I was happy to see this thread until you posted the Liberal Bizarro World Wish List of Hated American Organizations™. Objectivity flew out the window when you conspicuously left off every big liberal organization that participates in the flow of money in politics that you allegedly hate.

But, nevertheless, this kid could be on to something productive.

That is a good question. I would be curious to see how he votes from this point forward, even though he's still got a couple of years to go before he can vote.
