I'm sure I'm not the only one in this thread to get hung up on this, but what about the derogatory names and insults thrown at Obama? What do you think about that?
Although 'Dubya' is disrespectful to President Bush, it is tame compared to the filth our current president endures.
If you don't answer my questions, I wont answer yours.
I can't answer a question that I don't understand. I thought I was clear in this post (http://www.city-data.com/forum/35615761-post22.html) ... but you don't seem to think so. So I'm asking what part I wasn't clear about so I can better answer your question. I don't see what your issue is.

I think my questions were quite clear, so here it is again: what about the derogatory names and insults thrown at Obama? What do you think about that?

Random thought: Both Republican and the Democrat leadership like defense pork - it improves the economic situation in their turf, so "reducing defense spending is off the table," as Obama said once (Romney actually wanted spend more). However the rank and file Republicans generally approve of that situation - they want a mighty imperialistic military to police the world - while rank and file Democrats would like to see much less spent on "defense" (war) and more on constructive peaceful activities like infrastructure maintenance and social services.
whoever came up with that photo caption is a genius. "I could be another lincoln." that's a tall order. he'd need to start a war responsible for 650,000 american deaths on american soil.
You're upset.
Turn that frown upside down.
The confederacy was beaten down 150 years ago after starting the civil war. Google the phrase "Ft Sumter" since you have a very incomplete grasp of the topic. Time to get over it.
Agreed. If we park troops somewhere, it should ONLY be in Japan and South Korea.
