He told you how long....And its not the blocker you think. When you come home plug it in, 250 mile range every day. Plug it in at night. Want to go 500 miles? drive 4 hours, stop at a charging station, have a long lunch, and drive another 4 hours.

I think a better solution would be to start taxing politicians for each word of legislation that they propose in any bill, and cosponsors get taxed the same too.
