When 86% of your electric is unaffected by the tax it's a huge deal.

This is a revenue neutral tax and just becsue you have lower income taxes means nothing if your paying more for goods. All expenses are passed onto the consumer, you're paying for it one way or the other.
That's right we are paying extra at the pumps, but 100% of the extra we pay is returned through reduced taxes, plus it encourages us to use less fossil fuels, and that puts additional money in our pockets....Any criticism of our carbon tax is 97% sour grapes, because it WORKS.

Even if all of our electric power was generated with fossil fuels it would still work.

President Carter calls for carbon tax at Aspen renewable energy conference | kdvr.com
Carter is just high on his redemption from being the worst President in history. He's a politician with a newly found clout that allows him to do a little more dictation. It's their nature.

Maybe we should all be taxed 100%, then we won't be able to eat, pollute, or drive. In just a few weeks the over-population issue would be solved as well! At least on this continent. I'm sure EU and Asia would follow our model once they saw how well it WORKS.
