Capitalism is an economic system of private ownership of capital, markets mostly free of government interference, and voluntary participation.

Communism is a theoretical system where there is no private ownership of capital, no private property really, also largely absent of government interference since everyone is equal, and voluntary participation.

Socialism is the authoritarian middle ground between the two used as a step on the road to communism, where slowly but surely the government decreases private ownership of capital, interferes with markets, forces participation and does so with the intent of then dismantling itself once the communist utopia has been achieved.

Neither end of the spectrum actually exists or really ever has, since governments by their nature and definition are always interfering. An economic system can be thought of as more on ethan the other, but socialism exists in all economies to one degree or another. It's a pointer on a scale of government interference really.

Liberals hate profit motive. How evil! They should just sit home and pay their fair share. they say of capitalist” Economic growth is economic freedom and opportunity. Growth creates jobs, new products and encourages progress.

What liberals don’t realize is that profit motive is in no violation of any social contract ever conjured, because the only way to acquire wealth is through mutual consent. The consumer is pleased and benefited by the product, and the supplier is benefited by the profit they gain.

Capitalism sides with the people who work hard and produce, people that make a difference in their lives and to lives around them.

Capitalists don’t see wealth as a cause for jealousy as liberals do. Hate for a certain people or group of people will get you nowhere in life, and if you make them your enemy, you can be certain they will not cooperate.

The liberal case for treatment of the poor and demonization of the rich is not sustainable, nor is it plausible. What must be understood is that capitalism is the true form of progress. This is why liberal-progressivism is oxymoronic and an enormous contradiction.

Okay, there's no changing your mind. You're set in your liberal-hating ways.

Yes I am because I am proof how capitalism has succeeded. I don't depend on handouts to support me and my family and even though there are people that make a lot more than I do I am not jealous or think I deserve their money. I do not believe the government should use force to take from others to give to me.... failures think like that.

If liberals really want the poor to succeed, they should not demonize those who provide jobs.

I don't demonize people who provide jobs; I work at a large financial firm. I did need food stamps right out of college, but that was a while ago.

I demonize people who have unfair advantages and cheat the system to avoid paying taxes and their fair share.

Capitalism encourages entrepreneurship while socialism discourages it. Capitalism leads to innovation, Socialism leads to third world country conditions. Don't believe it? Cancel you cell phone, Direct TV, don't drive.. all products liberals buy created by capitalists.

Capitalism produces more economic growth: Capitalism produces considerably more economic growth than socialism and as John Kennedy said, "A rising tide lifts all boats."

Socialism is inherently wasteful:

"Nobody spends somebody else’s money as carefully as he spends his own. Nobody uses somebody else’s resources as carefully as he uses his own."
-- Milton Friedman

Capitalism works in concert with human nature while socialism works against it.

I don't think Canada, the UK, Sweden, Norway, France, or Germany are third world countries.

I do support capitalism, but it's not mutually exclusive with socialism.

And about your quote, JFK was a liberal. And a massive wave drowns everyone but the ones at the top.
