Kind of interesting. Anybody with a rational mind on this forum tried digging deeper into this yet? I wonder if it's true or this is all just some BS...
It would be real hard to do, the disruption (wake turbulence) in the air behind the passenger aircraft would make it almost impossible for the bombers to get close enough to hide in the radar shadow of it.

Update:Video has different date, my bad.
New argument.
Russia believes they were flying jets behind passenger planes, so did rebels, so they shot it down to send a message ???????
Isnt that worse ? That means it wasnt an accident.

It was happened during the daytime and there were tens testimonies by locals (not the rebels itself) who witnessed 2 planes in one part of the sky in the same time - a commercial plane and a military jet. There are some videos somewhere online with the witnesses saying it (in russian).
And russians radars catched the SU-25 at a distance of 3-5 kilometers of the Boeing777.
But sure, the US authorities totally ignore this and keep bashing the rebels.
